Degenerating technology?

Last time I wondered whether I had damaged my noggin, but no. I discovered what the true reason is. As time marches on, technology the pilot federation rolls out is getting worse. Scanners could previously pinpoint resources on planet surfaces, they can no more. Docking computers used to be able to fly your ship in- and out of a station. Now they get your ship shot because they "wait" for no apparent reason on a not-cleared landing pad or because it gets stuck in the toaster rack after kissing the wall several times. No wonder big ones start walking around on planets. At his rate I have to get outside and push my sidewinder in two to three years.
Also, interfaces have degenerated. Efficiency is out the door. Someone at the pilot federation got hit with some weird fungus I guess (clicker). Yes they look better. But do you hire a supermodel to clean your apartment? Or someone who actually knows how to clean an apartment but who may not be the best swimwear model.
All in all we got bigger problems but poorer tools to work on them.
The traffic controllers that work on rescue ships seem to all be evacuated traffic controllers from small stations...
Where do you want me to land? Oh on the far side of your ship? I have your family on board and 30 seconds of spare oxygen!
I am starting to feel I've been in the bubble too long.
I simply cannot wrap my head around the way big ones do things. Maybe a little bit of survival of the most fitting isn't such a bad idea after all.
Well if the pilots federation can't be arsed, maybe I can get an illegal board computer with a limited AI or something. I look forward to singing "Daisy" with it while zooming over the starlanes.
