This may be my last action for big ones

So I'm helping in the Witch Head Nebula. Not that I have anything against thargoids, but there were big ones trapped in burning stations, so I felt I should help. The station is under attack, there are interceptors and scouts flying around. It's a hairball. Imagine one of my stray bullets hits a defender.
I'm immediately "Wanted", can't land and defenders start treating me like a thargoid.
Hm, okay...
The entire herd of big ones decides the little pooka is a far greater danger than those two interceptors and starts shooting at me. (Like four cops standing around you for a burnt out bicycle light while behind them someone gets stabbed with a katana).
So I fly to a base in a nearby system to pay my bounty and get back to business. Oh no! The same faction. Also too pissed to allow me to continue defending a space station and evacuating biggies. All I can do is to hand myself in. Over a stray bullet... over 200 credits.
Since there is no other option I decide to hand myself in.
Imagine. the great minds that came up with the species name "homo sapiens" can't deduce that placing a combatant 1kly away from the combat in a fighter is effectively the same as removing the combatant from the fight altogether.
I was sent to a penal colony in the Pleiades. Yes it's a nebula too, but it has fark-all to do with the Witch Head Nebula. Why not send me to Beagle Point?
If big ones don't want me to help they should just tell me. Big ones don't know what's good for them anyway. That's how they always get into trouble. Choosing the fast easy fixes over the more costly and harder long term solutions.
Choke on your thargoids, this pooka is out! I'm joining their choir again instead of big ones' percussion section.
And to the petty Nuremberg "Befehl ist Befehl" cops in systems under duress. I hope your families are still on that burning station, praying for evac. Worth just 200 credits.
