Harmless or Elite Chapter 1 - Arcadia's Flight

Well, never really owned a diary before, always thought these things to be pointless but here i am. Writing away about a journey a million other pilot have taken, i don't know what spurred me to do it but i thought id give it a go, my mother always kept one and she would spend hours writing away in it. After her and my father passed years went by and i finally decided i needed to get out of here so here i am. this is where it begins. a simple dock workers tale of becoming a pilot and joining the elite in fame and glory (or so one can dream). It had been many years since my parents passed and i felt like id be stuck on this station forever. Years went by as i trained hard for my pilots license and training for this around my shifts on the dock didn't leave much room for sleep or anything else but i knew my hard work would pay off. And it did, i passed (barely) and finally i got my first ship, a Sidewinder i picked up from some shady dealer, the thing was a wreck. took me another 6 months before the thing could even get off the landing pad but i managed to get it flight worthy, or just about.
After spending countless months in the safety net of federation space running simple courier missions to and from various locations out of Trevithick Dock i managed to save enough credits for a better ship. Though my trusty Sidewinder Arcadia was an old rust bucket when i first got her she'd seen me through some tough times over the years and always kept on going, the worst of which was a few weeks into my new pilot life a pirate managed to catch up to me (which wasn't difficult i suppose) and opened fire! i got lucky as a couple of enforcement units were nearby and made short work of him leaving me time to get out of there. Undeterred i kept my eyes on a bigger prize. One that would finally get allow me to leave the safety net of federation space in hopes of finding more lucrative business ventures.
An Adder, simple yet elegant in shade of ocean blue i knew that was my ticket out if here and i finally had enough credits for one. At the shipyard the ship-master offered to take my old sidewinder off my hands but something held me back. it was my first ship after and i had a lot of fond memories trudging round space in that thing so i decided to keep it. Guess you never know when it will come in handy.
Departing for the last time i felt a sense of dread at the emptiness that lied ahead, i was in anew ship heading to a new system. Though i had ventured out many times before this time felt final. I new there was no turning back. i decided my first stop would be at Bunnell Enterprise in the Mutj system as a few pilots talked about jobs going there for those looking for work.
On arrival i quickly learned pickings were slim for a new pilot, untested, untrustworthy led to the more desirable jobs being out of reach even with the station in an economic boom they were weary of trusting newcomers. a few days passed and i began to think id never find anything until i found some grunt work for a Councillor named Connie Carroll, though moving biowaste from Bunnell station to Moorcock Co-operative wasn't the most thrilling work it was a start. i just hope to god those containers don't leak......
