Short trip tonight and not much to report. Left HIP 69445 without cooking myself, though it did get close. I'll keep that in mind for future WR encounters. Approached Shapley 1 to view the Fine Ring nebula from a few light years out. It was impressive, a ring shaped violet planetary nebula illuminated from within, but from light years away some detail was lost. CMDR Beepobeep flew directly there, apparently another WR? Not sure how I've managed to avoid them for so long. The view from inside wasn't much to write home about either, though having the galaxy filter through a purple cloud illuminated from inside by a purple star is an aesthetic at least.
Entered the Parrot Head Nebula - not sure what I was expecting but as a dark nebula it didn't present many opportunities for photographs. Next stop, a glowing green gas giant and hopefully some more unexplored systems. There's plenty of galaxy further out.
