March 1st - Ist time in Open

First time ever in Open tonight,tried to hook up wth the Cmdrs from my Wing - The Light Horse Brigade, no one around so out I went - WRONG! FIVE minutes into my Open 'Career" - battered by two in a Wing outside Mueller station! I gave a good account of myself...blew one up and very artfully got whupped inside seconds by the remaining ship! I have no idea what they were, didn't really get to see it was over so fast! 511,000 Cr to rebuy, 25% of my entire worth and absolutely demoralised. Finally got Winged up with Mike Mercury who took me for my first ever visit to. HAZ RES. Recouped 180,000 Cr but was nervous as heck - flying with an Elite Wingman and he's nav-locking me, backing me up and talking me through it all. And HE taught me SO much in the short time I was with him it was probably THE best time to date I've had in Elite! It was already an all-consuming passion of mine over the past 12 months - now? Good grief this has taken off on a scale I didn't know existed now! I LOVE the Dark....thanks Mike...you've made my night....I knew being part of a Wing would add 'something' and beggar me it certainly has! See you in the Dark Cmdrs
