Dear Diary

Well, i recently came back from a lonhohong trip to colonia. Damn that trip took way more time than i expected, but hey what did i know when i started. The trip itself was pretty much uneventful ... except the odd thing when several times i damaged the ship while refueling at a star, or picking up the phone while approaching planets - only to find myself very close to it afterwards ... or trying to use the docking assistant at that station located in an ice belt on the way, in a severly damaged ship. So did not get a docking permit in the beginning. Took me a while to figure out what i had to do (had no field repair back then). To colonia itself: Maybe i did not get the point of colonia ... or maybe i did not read the memo, i don't know ... but once being there the question why the hell i would go there in the first place, kept me up for days on my way back. Pirates trying to drag me out of supercruise every time i tried to do something, cargo being empty or not made no difference ... not exactly fun.
But in the end, nothing special really, just the bazillion jumps in my unpimped ASP explorer turned out to be quite a piece of work near the end. Now i know why everyone and his dog runs for engineers to pimp their FSD. I am doing that too now. At least i made approx. half a billion credits in the process by scanning every water world on my way, so yay ? Ah, and yes, i earned elite rank in exploration as well. So shinrartra dezra or whatever its name is, was the end of my journey.
Today i chose to give Dav's Hope a try, in order to try and farm some materials needed for elvira and that other chick thats able to pimp my FSD.
Oh my god, using a keyboard to drive your SRV is a pain. Odd thing happened though: I am really bad at driving a SRV ... my gamepad is in the mail though ... but suddenly my SRVs glass went all icey and a timer started telling me i would be dead in five minutes. Mhm ok, at least i actually saw the message (which is not granted), and managed to get back to my ASP, and docked in time. Hell, hitting the hatch to board your ship is quite difficult, but in the end i made it. Several logout/login rounds later i got a bit better with my SRV ... still feel like i'm magically attracted by each and every obstacle in the way, and will try to hit it. So cannot wait for the gamepad to arrive. Hell that is going to be the next funny event trying to setup the controls for it.
Another odd experience was the 'shutdown speed to zero' made my SRV not stand still but going forward every now and then for just a second, kinda blurry picture while doing that. Come to think of it: is that why there is a handbrake ? No idea what causes this, im sure it's my lack of knowledge how to setup up the control keyboard shortcuts.
By the way, Frontier: Of course it really is nice being able to assign each and everything (almost, just important stuff actually is missing) to shortcuts ... but honestly: How drunk were you when putting that screen together ?? Intuitive definitly is something different. Being a programmer myself, It really wants me to visit you, with my trusty 'opinion amplifier', being a 2 by 4 made from oak wood, and club you to death with it! Grrrr...
