Dear Diary

19 Sep 2019Ted Buckland
Ok, so i made a decision. The bubble is not the place to be for me right now and all the other options listed before were not appealing. So i threw a dart today to find the next place to go. In fact i threw two of them because the first dart missed the map entirely.

The outskirts, the 'over there' while pointing your arm in some arbitrary direction, or the ass of the universe ... you name it, that is where i am on my way to.

Went on to duct tape two SRVs to the boat, one on each side for the sake of balance of course. Along with a 3B AMFU which i am quite sure i will need at some point sooner or later. Made a note of what i need to refuel it once it really starts to hit the fan. Maybe one of my SRVs is still alive once i am at that point of the journey to refuel the AFMU. D-rated most of the not essential stuff, and yes, i kept stuff like the wake scanner and the docking computer ... mostly because i forgot to remove it, and i will have forgotten how to dock manually entirely once i come back ... not that i am good at it now.

Finally the training wheels provided by the stations scattered along the route to colonia came off. Felt like it was due ... ask me again when i am sitting in the middle of nowhere, like a lame duck, no station remotely close enough to limp to.

Still have 45+ LY range, nothing to write home about, still quite the double of what i had on my first trip out there. And it doesn't matter anyway, since i am not on the race track nor i have to get places anytime soon. I have time  for sightseeing, and maybe start making an album of screenshots in the process.

It was funny to see how quickly i was out of the bubble and in uncharted territory, that certainly is different from the last time. Oh, and i love that 5A scoop, why the hell did i not have that one on my first trip ? 'gulp ... fuel scooping completed' that's how i like it.

Started at the Founders World, i think it's called Sinatra Blabla or something, i can't remember, do i have to? I really hope my dog i left there at the diner won't bark bloody murder all the time while i am gone, but i can't take him with me since he would either pee into my space craft which i just got cleaned, or he would eventually just explode. Both would not be a pretty picture.

But that was all none of the important stuff. After some consultation and essentially bribing the spaceport mechanic he managed to fix my nakamichi tape deck to the left side of my hud, along with the two soundwall speakers. Filled my backpack with music, and off i went.

So i made my way out of Sinatra Blabla, B.B. King blasting at max volume in my cockpit, just to see if it works.

And it does.
Do you like it?
