It still smells like dog in here ... maybe it made a mess in some of the cabinets, i really don't want to know and am a bit afraid to open any of the doors. I will need to have a word or two with the cleaners once i am back.
So the dart on the map got me to places i really was not waiting to see ... very boring ones, lots of. Bad karma i guess. It's like the sahel zone of space around here ... nothing.to.see. At all. I even orbited some of the not so very very boring planets. Did not help.
Apparently i switched regions, and got that once i received messages and codex entries of very special things like ... a gas giant or some other stuff i had seen tons of already. With that mountains of money i got from the entries i am sure i almost even can afford a coke to go with my cold and dry french fries once i am back.
Then suddenly, a water world, yay ! Until, suddenly i started to recognize people already were here before, scanning garden variety planets. That was odd, and i thought where the hell did they go to ? So i started to follow their trail, which is sometimes not as easy as it may sound.
Then i thought to myself 'why in the world would a bunch of people be here of all places ?'
And i started to look at the map.
OK, a red kind of cloud not that far away, hmm. Like that would be interesting.
Then the little voice in my head suddenly said 'Hey moron, go and look for close planets with a population greater zero, huh'.
I often listen to the voice in my head, even if it tends to talk down on me he is more often right than wrong. The only uneasy thing is when the other voice starts to answer the first one, and they start to argue, and then there is a screaming match in my head going on for an hour or two ... very uncomfortable.
And there it was, a KFC drive-in the middle of nowhere, some 50 jumps off, while i am already 4.000 LY out of the bubble. How about that. And of course exactly when you don't want to see anyone. Well i instantly got hungry.
The voice in my head said 'Hey moron, be happy, you will need it, believe me'
I started to check the modules.
'Nah, all in the green still' i answered. 'And that silly red dot next to my FSD was the work of the engineering chick that pimped it, she had to make it kind of pink in the process'. I guess i have to take a piece of bubble gum to cover that.
But in the end i was curious enough to change course to that funny nebula. It'll better be worth it.
