The new krait phantom i got needs some getting used to. On the pro side it has a really nice cockpit view. On the negative side, that boat seems to heat up like crazy at every star, compared to my ASP. I took most modules off of the ASP, especially the engineered FSD.I do enjoy shaving off like 10% of the jumps compared to my ASP, but i am not sure yet if i will make it in and out of Sag A* in one piece. I will give it some more jumps then decide.
... and hour or six later ...
No no no, that thing is not working for me right now.
After about another dozen jumps i turned around and went back to the caravanserai, to pick up my ASP again. Threw in the modules and dumped a few others. Now it does almost as many LY per jump as my krait did. And now i am going to mull over wether i should keep that krait or sell it right away.
And its not only because i could not find my opinion amplifier and did not see a dev walk by my house - after they managed to botch their servers two times within five minutes that would have been really nice. Or that they even are unable to exit their game properly once they mess up. Or that they want to cook my GTX while being in a hangar and doing nothing. That level of incompetence is annoying for sure, but it's not the krait's fault.
I am sure it is a fine boat, it just does not seem to work for me. i might want to look into it and its absurd level of gaining heat at a star again .... but for now it is no match to my ASP, at least as far as exploration goes. I guess i will keep it for now, and have it gather dust here.
At least i got another dish of the day at PingPong's, so that's not too bad. This korean chef really is something we need more of.
