Do you still remember that?

When I was a little boy I looked out the window of the space station into the starry abyss. I dreamed of traveling far and discovering galaxies. I listened incredulously to the stories of brave pilots who had just returned from the conquest of space. In my head I painted pictures of fights with strangers. I was proud of the Commanders who risked their lives in the fight against the Thargoids. I also wanted to be like that.Theory and then walk to the docks. The thrill you felt on your back when you realized that you would walk up the stairs to Sidewinder for a moment. The first rudder handle in the cabin. Everything so new but exciting. Difficult beginnings of training.
Do you remember the day you became a pilot? Right now. When is the Elite sign proudly displayed on your Anakonda?
You sit in the canteen with other pilots and talk about the furthest expeditions, about Beagle Point and others. And somewhere close sits a little boy who listens and with the eyes of his imagination sees himself in a spaceship flying into the abyss towards challenges.
