Updating log - My First logbook entry. Challenger vs NHSS: cyclops.Well, i dropped in a hell of a lot more confident then i was when i left. I had put all faith in the Guardian modules in my ship and was ready for a fight until the death. This was not the first time i have came into contact with a Thargoid, i have had combat experience with them before. I have to admit it is a completely different ball game when your running a one man fleet!
After scanning the vessel with my Xeno scanner, i targeted a heart and began to engage! Everything was going well, i was keeping the swam under control and was half way through killing the second heart, But then it came away!
The bug screamed and let of a neutralizing field that started to scramble my modules, stripped through my shield and boosters and Darkness knows what else and was hit by a swam that really did not help me at all my hull dropped to 50% very fast.
Not as confident as i was not a matter of seconds ago, i made the mistake of turning and fleeing! I have a feeling it was not to happy about that as it started firing caustic missiles at me and was very hot on my mass lock at all times. I really struggled to get away from it and it was able to hit me with constant fire and missiles. THE THING SEEMED TO KNOW at all times what i was doing, when my FSD had almost charged it would hit and disable it. This meaning i was no longer able to escape. I certainly was not having that i put faith in my experience and turned back on the deformed starfish and activated my auto field maintenance on my FSD, partly repairing it enough to jump and charged it as soon as able jumping straight over the top of the cyclops i got out!
After landing back at the Indra i can conclude that the ship as a whole can take and deal a lot of punishment but with like any situation the was so many variables against me, even more so when it comes to the bugs! I am going to sit and wait for support before going at one in this again! the story in the piping is that the type 10 is supposed to be really good!
This is going to be a long fight.
