Lost in Space

So here's my problem. I'm a couple thousand light years from whatever passes for civilization in the Bubble. My hull is held together with chewing gum and twine. I can jump 37 ly at a time, so 50 or so jumps should be enough to get me home, but I climbed up the sta(i)rs to the top of this part of the Inner Orion Spur, and there aren't enough stars within range to let me move forward. It looks like the only way back is, well, back - that is, I have to backtrack to the area where I climbed up above the galactic plane and climb back down to be able to get across to the Bubble.Ugh. So probably closer to 80-100 jumps. I hope - hope - that I can find a way to do it via different systems, so I'm not just going through systems I've already seen.
On the upside, I stumbled across my first Earth-like yesterday! According to the catalog, someone else already discovered it, but I'll always remember my first.
Also, this large iceball where I'm spending the night has rings, and they cut across the sky in the glow of the galaxy, and it is just amazing.
