A Way Home

17 Oct 2019Dante Cortez
Well, I managed to find a path back without backtracking too much. I'm slowly climbing down into Bubble space - only about 1,150 ly to go - and the volume has more stars in it, so I have managed to plot a route all the way back to Deciat. I hope I can convince Farseer to tweak my ride a little more.

Not sure what I'll do next after I get back and my ship sorted out. Maybe I'll have enough cash for a faster, bigger build-out. But I do dearly love this one. A Bit of Gravitas indeed. I don't know, I've never seen much of the actual Bubble. I hear you need special permits to go to some systems. Something to do with the politics of Alliance and Empire and Federation and man, do I really not care about any of that. But I guess if I want to visit those places, I'll have to figure out how to get the permits.

Set down on the first moon of a deep blue gas giant, in a geyser-filled valley, for the night. The glow of the Milky Way swoops across the sky, a curtain of light that reflects dimly off the spray of whatever is spewing out of these fumaroles. The geysers themselves rumble through the ground, making a soothing background static for me to fall asleep to. Tomorrow or the next day, I should be able to make it back to somewhere with a hot shower, a soft bed, and a place to sell off my scan data.
Do you like it?
