Still Out Here

16 Nov 2019Dante Cortez
I haven't written for a while. It's not that there hasn't been anything to write about. If anything, there's been too much. I've just been so busy. I fell off the neutron highway I was on, so I've had to travel a couple thousand light years the slow way, which means lots of route plotting as I try to maintain the same general direction. And for a while I was in a sparse region of the Sanguineous Rim, so I had to boost my FSD several times. I seem to be back in a denser region now, so that's less of an issue.

Where am I headed? According to my guidebooks, there's a deep-space asteroid base out in the Jellyfish sector. If my information is correct, and the base is still there, I'm less than 800 LY from it, so I should be able to dock and do some maintenance, on both A Bit Of Gravitas and myself. And maybe sell all this data I've been accumulating. I've found several more water worlds - including a water giant, something I've never seen before - and a couple of Earthlikes that I don't think anybody else has reported yet.

For the moment, I'm camped on a dark moon of a massive ringed giant. My scans showed bio signals, but when I traced one and landed, I was in a forest of tall, jagged crystals. The good news: This forest is absolutely loaded with antimony. I spent half an hour collecting it, and may spend another half hour tomorrow. Which should be enough to max out my antimony storage bin. I'm not sure exactly what antimony is used for, but it's a Grade 5 element, so there has to be something worthwhile to do with it.

So that's where I am. Don't despair. I'll be heading back to the Bubble eventually, and significantly wealthier than when I left.
