Movin' On Up

21 Nov 2019Dante Cortez
Once again, I find myself climbing above the galactic plane in search of... anything. I've been focusing on F Class and A Class stars, trying to locate new Earthlikes, but they are few and far between. I have found several water worlds, including a pair of them in my current system. One that I found had an ice cap that took up half a hemisphere. The two in this system aren't quite that interesting to look at, though the outer one is a deep, almost purple, blue. I am camping on the innermost of its three moons for the moment.

It's funny. Every time I told myself "I'll just hit the next F star system, find a place to land and bed down for the night," the next two or three F stars had no planets or nothing I could land on. I assume the universe wanted me to keep moving.

Tomorrow I will continue to climb until I run out of stars. One nice thing about being up so high above the plane - it's all virgin territory. Nobody has been up here, as far as I can tell. (Once in a while, I might run into a tagged system, but rarely, and up where I am it never happens twice in a row.) I'm running short of F and A stars, though. Everything up here is K and M, which are fine, but seem less likely to have very exciting planets.

Maybe I'll find more neutron stars and push further along the Sanguineous Rim with boosted jumps. That would be cool.
