That could have gone better, but could have also been worse

Cayce sat aboard his most recent ship; the a Krait MkII he named Stratos' Fire. While the Empire and Federation had their little pissing contest, he was testing a new outfitting setup and was a little less than impressed. Not the ship's fault, but more of a lack of proper engineering. The ship dealt good damage, maneuvers decent, but barely held its own against an elite ranked gunship in the belts. The shields collapsed quickly, and the ship lost about half its integrity before he could take out the gunship.
He sighed. The ship, with its thermal-resistant bi-weaves and mildly engineered boosters, only had a shield strength of 532. He had to fix that. At the moment, the ship was good on resistance, but there was room for improvement still, and it just didn't have the capacity to back it up. He went to the resources list for resistance and heavy duty shield boost engineering and groaned. He was out of Imperial Shielding, Conductive Components and Ceramics, and Hybrid Capacitors. Figures; he never had a good supply of those.
"...Guess it's time to go resource mining again."
Shrugging, he cracked his knuckles and launched the ship. The red Krait leapt off the pad and he aimed for Ember. It was time to collect the Black Pearl and go salvaging.
