To the galactic core: coming home

29 Nov 2016Charlie Paulson
Wrangell City sure is a pretty sight after so long away from the bubble. Touched down a few hours ago; Lailani's team have just about finished offloading their equipment, and the refitters are coming round to bay 40 tomorrow to start the repairs and reinstall the taipan's hangar.

Between Dr Faulkner's reward and the cartographics, we just pulled in over fifty mil. The crew's faces sure were a pretty sight when the credit transfer went through, even though the reality ain't sunk in yet.

They're all millionaires now.

A fair chunk of the cartographics money came from finding an earth-like world with .7Gs near Sag A. There's some indigens, but nothing sapient. Massive ice cap, too:

Another thing about the core: sunrise looks... different.

It's been a hell of a trip. Over two thousand jumps, fifty thousand light years, and a lot of fuel scooping, but we made it.

Quintin says he's fixing to buy his own ship, a cobra. Says he plans to name it after his dead husband, which honestly don't seem healthy to me, but it's his money, and his choice. I'm sorry to see him go; he's a damn fine pilot, and my first ever crewman. Hopefully he'll swing by PanGal turf now and again.
