What's an Honest Pirate to Do?

05 Nov 2021Dane Icaza
Another night spent hiding in a red giant's corona.

Another night going hungry.

Every Goddamn time I fire up my interdictor module, some piece of garbage "Commander" beats me to the punch. Their modules somehow just seem better! Faster interdictions, more room for error, greater range! It's nonsense, it isn't fair!

And you know what the worst part is? Those CMDRs don't even harvest any cargo from their victims! They don't say "give me 10 tons of Biowaste if you want to live!" or any of the other customary greetings. They just shoot them! And they don't shoot them with normal weapons. These bastards shoot to kill, with railguns and plasma cannons the likes of which this poor privateer has never seen. Obliterated in just a few hits, these innocent merchants die in seconds... these CMDRS who beat us honest pirates to the punch have no respect, no honor! A real pirate demands a few thousands credits worth of goods, no more. Just enough to feed our families. We aren't greedy.

I don't know what I'm going to do. These hostile CMDRs are taking all our business and putting us honest pirates out of work... maybe it's time we looked into this "engineering" nonsense?
