War Room

The primary Extra Corporation war room was deep in the heart of the Ban Enterprise Coriolis . The walls surrounding what amounted to a bunker were 12 feet thick in the shape of a giant sphere, nature's strongest shape. The interior was well lit and appointed with the smooth lines and crisp white surfaces that had attracted the Extras to Imperial space so many years ago.Lino Fisher, the patron every Extra, admired as a father figure, towered over the holographic representation E-Space in the center of the room. He lithely leaned over the horizontal display on his fingertips intently studying something.
E-Space was an impressive thing, stretching across 70 light years in places. Systems that we're healthy, well supplied, and living in peace and liberty glowed in a soothing green the Extras worked daily to maintain. Recently, more and more systems had begun blinking a disturbing red... and it was spreading.
PwnLuc and tNG strode into the war room in full flight gear that looked in need of some maintenance. Both stood at attention providing a salute that had not yet been returned.
Lino spent a further few seconds squinting at the tiny thing as if his look alone could cause a tiny explosion that would remove the dot from the display.
"At ease, report." Lino flashed a quick salute allowing the Commanders the freedom to relax and approach the table.
"Society of Greybeards broke coalition with us and their heads are fully immersed in Lavigny's trough of Kool-Aid." offered Jicard
"And the Kunti?"
"Putting up a good fight. They're resisting the Queen's attempts to drop another wasteful control system on top of them." PwnLuc couldn't help but think about the Yab Cameni ALD expansion just when E-Corp had finally broke out of ALD space and thought they'd experience a little freedom.
"Think they're ready to accept who really restarted their war with the Extras and ESS?"
"Doubtful." said tNG.
She looked more magnificent than ever. The war was taking a toll, you could tell, but the fire in her eyes was more intense that Jicard had ever seen it. She was losing weight; he'd have to remind her to eat more often. He was sure that would go well for him.
Goddess, as Jicard called her, made a few gestures at the holo display. Systems zoomed in showing her influence, economic, and security statuses. She didn't like what she was seeing. tNG was Extra's mastermind. Jicard got them started and had lead for a time, he knew that, but she was truly coming into her own. Her light burned like a young blue giant and PwnLuc knew his once fiery orb was beginning to burn a little helium.
Lino waved his hand in a sweeping gesture causing the entire display to fade to black, replaced by a slowly spinning ExtraCorp logo and elicited a brief feral look from tNG before she remembered who Lino was.
He smiled in that way only a cunning and professional politician could.
"Stay strong pilots, the battle is not yet joined." He gave each of his finest pilots a long and knowing look.
"They'll be here as soon as they've finished something important."
"Dismissed, pilots."
