Deciat Oddities

14 Jul 2016Mr Beeps
As I lifted off the landing pad in my courier, sliding effortlessly into the deep canyons below and listening to the thrusters tear through the airless sky, I noticed several hollow rectangles appear on my sensors.

Always interested in the doings of other CMDRs, I scanned through the contacts to see an anaconda resting peacefully, a federal corvette no doubt trying to increase jump range, and an asp with no shields and 67% hull. And another asp with no shields. Hardpoints deployed.

With my enhanced performance thrusters gliding over to check it out took only a second or two. What I found was...bizarre. The asps were playing a high stakes game of bumper cars within the no fire zone. Smashing into each other during the docking sequence. One was a master. The other a novice. I was prepared to violate the no fire zone should things escalate, in defense of the less aggressive novice. But they didn't. Shields came on and went off with the next cockpit smash. I imagine docking is difficult with an asp in your dash.

Finally the novice docked. The master found his way to his pad.

I turned to leave but wanted to check out the corvette up close. Targeted him and realized his shields were not full. And I couldn't see him. He was moving, but inside the docking bay. I asked if he was ok. No he said. Stuck. His nose appeared through the surface of the platform and for a brief moment I thought he might break free. No luck. I watched and wondered what I could do. Nothing. He was doomed.

The master asp took off. I wondered if he would try to smash me. That wouldn't go well for my 80t hulled ship.

He didn't. High waked.

The corvette disappeared.

Shows over. Time to go back to searching for conductive ceramics. Always a spectacle in Deciat.
