For a week now I have been working the bugs outta the new Artificial Intelligence and Voice Integration System (AVIS). I would like to say the install went flawless, however each and every system in the ship had to be reworked, initialized, and tested. AVIS is so integrated with the ship that it almost reads your mind. The crew is liking it, but it is taking some getting used to.Most of the week was spent puttering around Colonia and the surrounding systems docking, undocking, engine checks, command checks, comms checks, you name it we checked it. Fucked it up sometimes too. Bumped into many ships and stations, but we never got blown outta the sky. It seemed like every issue we fixed messed up another system somewhere else on the ship that we didn't even know were tied together.
We had enough of the bugs worked out to at least know how to shut the damn AI off and regain ship control if we needed. Several of our system cruises had gone off without a hitch. It was time to take her out and explore.
We took off for an unexplored system just a few hundred light years out. The AVIS, the ship and, most importantly, the crew all worked together flawlessly. After two days of exploration we headed home. Sometimes uneventful is a good thing.
