busy,busy,busy...

There was this plan to review the outfitting and engineering of Lise Meitner, my Krait Phantom, and evaluate if deep space mining/exploration was a viable option after all....
Maybe see if I could store a second outfit for fighting and bountyhunting in the garage. Finally figure out what this vessel, that I just bought on a whim, is actually good for.
(Yes, I know, buying something for 100+M, just because the opportunity arises is...yeah...but then again, I heard all that talk about the phenomenal Phantom, so...)
I mean, don´t get me wrong, I like her. She´s a good ship. Ugly as hell, but a real racer. Hitting the "Boost"-button is like "Whooaaa, here I come!!"
But still.
With all these tier 3 slots, I seem to waste a lot of space, whatever I try to outfit her for. Without extensive engineering, I feel she´s just a little to expensive and a little to flimsy for fighting. For bulk mining, the Type 9 is just so much more efficient. Exploration: Why do I need a flying football stadium when I have a Diamondback Explorer with practically the same jump range? So this is where the Idea came up to sacrifice a little of the jump range to utilise the vast space in the hull to carry the mining equipment along, just in case I find something meaty way out there where it is a nightmare to crawl to with the Type. Getting that thing to a safe haven, packed with valuables, is another thing. I´ll see when I get there. Probably the booster will be my best friend.
Anyway, I am sidetracking. So, these were my pet projects I developed while nothing much happened, except me and Florence doing milk runs for our retirements plans (Not that I plan to retire soon, but, you know, good to know there is a little something stashed away just in case....remember the Type-9-debacle...)

Then The Workers of Gateway for Equality went into retreat after an infrastructure breakdown in Farack. That could just be averted. Thanks to Ada Lovelace II, I could take wing mission all by myself and ship a 4-digit number of supplies per shift, so the situation gradually got better.
Just when I started reading manuals and gadget-ads again, a federal corporation jumped at the Workers in LHS2948...So I went there, money for killing, and no chicks for free...
It´s the kind of dragging-on, strenuous low-level teeth grinding fighting. Both parties are not too well off, so they can´t afford large-scale operations. Instead, it´s a merciless war of attrition in a limited number of engagement areas. Can be profitable, can be tiresome. I tried different combat configurations and such, and I decided, the Retributor I was awarded for my ongoing service to the Alliance, at the very next opportunity, goes straight up the vendor´s....no, I´ll probably stash it somewhere. For whatever purpose. (We heard People joke about it, its good for frying eggs on spare armor plating....Florence tried one night in the cargo bay...It worked XD XD...the eggs were good. Best use we ever got out of the thing. )
The Corp is really into grabbing the outpost, it seems. They sent a Federal Corvette after My Cobra MkIII, and the thing and its Federal-Assault-buddy chased me out of a combat zone for a solid 15km, until what was left of my FSD by then finally charged. I decided it´s time to make the Engineer-roundtrip again, turn some of my combat experiences into tweaked outfits, and finally get those scan databases to Ram-Tah, see what he can do about the point defences  (not an awful lot, I am afraid. )

So yeah. Bye, bye pet projects for now, see you in a while....
Do you like it?
