[2] Musings from Beagle Point

So I made it to beagle yesterday and fell promptly asleep in the bridge. Out here, it's hard to keep track of time. The view outside the window is gorgeous, and a little daunting. But only around 40% of the fleet made it here. The attrition was strong. We left quite a lot of people back at Waypoint 16, when several ships fell behind due to repairs. But as I'm sitting here, I can't help but think about them: the squadron I flew in, the intermittent signals from the Wasp, the fuel rats, hell even those crazy Rock Rats. And for a small moment, we are all united, in the same place, looking towards a galaxy slowly spinning around. And together, we gaze in wonder.I woke up way too early. I'm getting too sentimental. Hah, at least no one's gonna go off and read this entry. Who would want to read about me anyways. If the Distant Worlds Expedition comes back, people are going to read CMDR Kranco's or Vespera's logbooks. Ah well, just for posterity: I, Myung Wyrders, callsign Taleswift, set foot onto Ceeckia ZQ-L c24-0 on the 2nd of April, 3302. Why would I waste countless months to make it to the farthest place from home only to turn around to retrace my steps?
Because it's calling to me. It's there.
