I was born there. In Melbourne, the second largest city on the southern continent called Australia.

Humanity almost didn't make it. The Earth's ecosystem really started to suffer toward the end of the 20th Century and efforts throughout the next hundred years failed to arrest the damage that was being done to the planet. Fortunately, in the 22nd Century the technology whose development nearly destroyed the world saved it. The development of new energy efficient and powerful spacecraft drive systems enabled humankind to move out into the stars. The pressures of overpopulation of this planet were relieved and the ecosphere was able to begin to repair itself. Strangely, this lush, green world now hosts visitors from far flung star systems who come to holiday where it all began and experience a truly pristine and beautiful world.

There are also some magnificent examples of the huge Orbis Starports in orbit around Earth.

The crisp cleanliness of M.Gorbachev

And the lush greenery in Li Qing Jao

Enough prattling on about my home town. Time to drop in on the relations and spend a few days reminiscing and down a couple of the bottles of Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch 1,332 I saved from my big trip out into the Norma Expanse and Hawking's Gap a couple of years ago. Then I'll head off to my next stop, the Moon.
