Space Trials Complete

Spent some time reviewing the previous logs from trials and planned a small-scale refit. Have installed anti-rodent drone systems throughout the supply cargo decks and I may retro fit the same into the Hungry Hippo before I head out into the black again. Steal my damn Twiglets will you? You'll be dead!I've also swapped out both SRVs after examining the security logs as I can't be one hundred percent certain they're not in cahoots with each other. Last thing I need in deep space is some form of wheelied mutiny.
All offensive weapons are now removed and that's helped the jump range - but not as spectacularly as much as the new module I've installed after a visit to the tech broker. A guardian FSD booster has added about a ten lightyear advantage to this massive ship and the mass reductions from the offensive gear helped further still. It's got a massive uptick in power requirement though so I've had to engineer the power plant and power down the maintenence kit when not in use. May add a second maintenance kit but that really is a luxury as I've never needed two before.
I also reduced the size of the cargo bay by half (to 128 tonnes) to gain a small advantage as I barely hit a hundred tonnes, whilst retaining the option for limpet storage and collection of potentially unknown artefacts in future. More engineering to strip down the mass on several modules. Think I'll add back a fixed beam laser on the nose in case I encounter any more Guardian locations and engineer for mass reduction as much as possible.
Interestingly, applied some of the same types of engineering to the Colonia Express and have a whopping sixty five ly jump range with only eleven million credits down! For those record attempts to the rim or the basement of the galaxy this could be the ship of choice rather than A7NS Hoopy Frood. Definitely the right ship for speed runs to Colonia I hope to make if the squadron wants to set up shop there in future.
Time for some combat duties for the squadron over the next week. Lots to look forward to.
Log ends.
