Biological detour

So I am in route for this mega-ship to perform the repairs.Almost at the last jump, while my hull is creaking like a nugget, a warning appears on my FSS scanner. Biological feature.
Biological? After a month of geological features, suddenly I discover life somewhere?
Besides, on a high-gravity planet. Much higher than the one that damaged my ship last time.
I should leave it alone. I am in danger, losing air, and safety is just few light years away.
But am I an explorer? Yes. Yes, I must be an explorer. Otherwise there is nothing else left in my life.
So I perform a detailed scan of the planet and I point my ship at the signal. The gravity is strong, the Fairtyale groans and the thrusters are not enough to slow me down. I must point the nose up and use the main engines to perform a controlled fall.
But this time I remembered to raise my shields. I am improving.
Finally I land. Slowly. Very slowly. But exactly in the middle of... space eggs?
I run amongst them in my SRV. And I am a bit unease. What if a monster suddenly hatches out of one of these eggs?
I perform scan after scan. I collect samples. I am an explorer and I am here for this. My only wealth is my data. I must record everything... then run while I can.
