Step after step, jump after jump

Every day I wake up, I take a shower, I eat my breakfast, then I jump. These days, all systems are unexplored. The list of celestial bodies "discovered by Nerys Nymei" is growing. At first, I was very surprised of it. Now I am getting used to it. Used, but not tired. It's a duty and a pleasure. Knowing that I am the first human being in this section of space, and knowing that I am billions of billions of chilometers distant from the nearest human being, it is exciting.
I jump, and I a scan. Every day I cover at least four or five solar systems. Celeste says that I will need more or less five hundred jumps before arriving to Colonia. At least three months. She even gave me a graphical representation of my trip.
Three months, if everything goes well. And it is not sure. I could hit a black hole, a neutron star, something else.
But I am not scared. Not much. I am starting to feel a sense of balance, of equilibrium. Or maybe I am just becoming crazy, I don't know.
Every evening... I mean "evening" according to the local time of the ship, that is my biological clock, I search for a place where to land. I still do not trust open space for sleeping. I change the sheets in the little bed behind the cockpit every three days. Maybe I am a crazy girl, but at least I want to be a clean crazy girl.
