Jury Rigging Systems

[18 2157 Z JUL 3306]Making up this life support bypass has taken longer than I anticipated. I have checked and double checked the wiring diagrams. As I have already said, the most prudent course is to connect a power bypass to the life support first, then disconnect and install the new relays. The #3 relay may not need to be disconnected, but it's going to be easier with it out of the way.
I've made up a wiring harness that I'm going to connect between feeder relay #2 and a terminal downstream of the emergency circuit power supply to the life support. If I am careful enough here, I should be able to keep the emergency circuit from dropping. To that end, I've added a diode into the harness, meaning that with both power supplies connected there shouldn't be a feedback or current oversupply problem.
I've found some sturdy rubber insulated gauntlets and an anti-static mat out the back. Despite the loss of dexterity that I'm going to have wearing the gloves, the added safety of not electrocuting myself before blowing up is going to make it easier to concentrate, meaning I am going to be more likely to succeed. The mat on the floor is just extra security.
If I can successfully connect this bypass using the gloves, I will continue using them to replace the relays. If I work calmly and steadily, I should have no troubles with the live power supply. I have over 30 days worth of fuel available with no systems online, so time is on my side.
