Commander's log - Launch DayToday we finally launch Expedition Calypso. This has been a dream of mine ever since I sat down in my first sidewinder. To travel the stars, new planets, seeing incredible sights, and leaving a trail of discoveries in my wake. I will be joined on this trip by my co-pilot WKjezz who is a certified Hull Seal and seasoned explorer. We have four co-pawlets who'll be getting used to life in the stars.
The mission: Traveling to an anomaly we've observed from afar and doing a detailed mapping of the area around it.
We plan on being out in the black for years, only coming in to turn in bio scans and restock on the basics. We'll be synthesizing most of what we need and using the supplies from the Fleet Carrier: Expedition Calypso.
I will be heading ahead to scout the trail our carrier will take and be joined soon by my co-explorer. My personal role on the expedition is ExoBiologist, I have all of the known data available on alien life in the galaxy and I will be documenting and reporting on all sightings along the way.
PS. This is a personal trip, while I will be sharing it with others, the choices, timetable, and stops along the way will all be made without consulting others. Please be warned if you land on the Calypso, she might take you for a wild ride and yes just like Odysseus you may lose 7 years of your life to the beautiful sirens song of the black.
