Around the Galaxy in 80 Days.

Well, first off the name itself is a misnomer, just a catchy title.I made my first attempt at a galactic circumnavigation back at the beginning of 3301. That attempt failed...twice. The third attempt was interrupted by a personal invitation from the legendary CMDR Erimus to join him on an expedition that would turn out to be historic...Distant Worlds. In all my years as a star pilot, no memory comes close to those months of the DWE. The most amazing things were seen and experienced. Friendships were made that will last a lifetime.
Still, upon returning, I kind of got stuck in bubble life. A couple of trips out to Colonia, and the second DWE voyage...Distant Stars, but all the while the deep sang to me it's siren song. The deep is in my blood, my soul, and I cannot deny it.
So, on the 26th of February, a little over 5 months ago, I set out once again in an attempt at a galactic circumnavigation. This time however, my starting and ending point would be Beagle Point. After many trials, travails and adventures, I arrived at Beagle some 3 weeks ago. Along the way, I got as high as it is possible to achieve above the galactic plane above Sag A*, and skirted the outskirts of not 1 but 2 likely Alien civilizations.
My ship, the Anaconda - Gloria Coelis - has had a hard trip. My structure is down to 76%. My heat sinks are gone, having been destroyed in an overheating incident (long story...but it took me weeks to get the materials to reload the AFMU's enough times to get my systems working properly again). So, I will likely have to swing in to Colonia at about 1/4 around the rim, for repairs and restock...not to mention resupply of food and a proper shower.
I rounded the far end of the Sag/Carina arm (at least as far as my FSD would allow me to get, no records set there). and have begun working my way down the Scutum-Centaurus arm.
