Quest for the Goldilocks plants

Through out my travels of exploring the galaxy I have seen strange structures, abandoned settlements, the black hole at the center of the galaxy and the far off stations outside the bubble, but I have yet to discover habitable planets that have not already been found.

In the future if our technology ever progresses, I would like to use the new fleet carriers that are coming to establish a deep space base of operations in a habitable system. Get stations built on planets and in orbit. It would seem perfectly feasible with the amount of ringed planets and asteroids in systems through out the galaxy. Before I locked things up and went to sleep while in deep space last night, I found a system with 6 ringed gas giants and they are with in 1000 light years of the bubble. But no matter how many systems I travel, still no Goldilocks.

Sometimes I will get the high metal content worlds and if I am lucky they are heavy gravity worlds. They are my favorite planets for gathering materials since low gravity always has them flying away. Now if I can set up a mining station, that would be perfect.

With everywhere I have explored though the closest one so far has been a water planet but the majority have been ice planets and gas giants. Although that would make for an interesting base to have on a water planet. Just have to make sure it doesn't suffer the same fate at Atlantis.
