Low Temperature Griefers

Begin log: 0603.24 This past weekend was eventful, but with the outbreak in SOL the griefers have come out in force. A few of my squadron went out exploring and found a Low Temperature Diamond hot spot and began mining the area. I joined them and mined 4 asteroids getting around 25 diamonds refined. The others had some hit and miss, sometimes getting a full cargo load full or hardly finding any. We had a few who took diamonds as payment for protection since they did not have the setup for mining and we were having the occasional pirates show up in system. One of our commanders found a good system to trade in, getting 1 to 1.5 million per diamond.
Our first commander who went back got jumped at the system, luckily he was able to jump out before destroying him. He received no messages or calls for cargo to be turned over. These were just griefers destroying other commanders. Since my Anaconda, Durin's Tyrfing, has some defenses I was going to check it out. Sure enough, 3 griefers waiting next to the only station in the system and all fully engineered. No single commander with no engineering stands a chance against them. They are typical griefers being annoying as always. I jumped out since my ship is mainly built for mining it wont last against them, it was time to get the Balance of Judgement.
Taking them all on was going to be impossible, but hoping to keep them distracted enough for my squadron members to get into the station. If it was just 2 I would have been able to destroy them without much difficulty but with 3, I would need back up. Almost took out the Clipper, with my huge beam lasers their shields melted like butter but I was losing my shields from the other 2.
Once enough time passed I started super cruise jumping to get to the station and recharge my shields in case they interdicted me. No difficulty though, and made a nice profit of around 38 million for the diamonds collected. I filled in my squadron about the griefers and we all made it through without any losses.
Dont understand the griefers at all, there is no reward and nothing gained from destroying other commanders. Now if they were pirates, I would actually drop some cargo, even if they were in a stock Eagle just for the fun of it. When enough of my commanders are fully engineered we are going to go hunting for them, and any squadron or commanders who want to join us may do so. Destroy the griefers, save the galaxy.
