0604.21 Mining, not for me

Begin Log:Besides the beginning grind of needing to mine for engineering, I have never gone long term mining. It is just beyond boring, especially for a grind, and it just does not seem like something a pilot should not have to waste a lot of time on. At most I can do 30-45 minutes before wanting to get back into combat, go explore or do some trading. I think it is mostly how slow the entire process for mining is with all the technology that is available.
The scanners are inefficient and depend on one use limpets while hotspots are not always full of the material it is supposed to be a hotspot for. And from personal experience, the asteroids that glow when scanned often do not have the majority of the material you want or none at all. For an example I have been hitting the double and triple hot spots on and off over the last month for Low Temperature Diamonds and yesterday was the 1st day I actually came across an ice asteroid that I could actually use the seismic charge explosives on and one of only a handful of high material asteroids that actually had LTDs. The limpet control involved in mining and collecting also shows the entire process itself could all be done by drones.
In fact, factions have operations on planets going after material and is proof enough that commanders should have the ability to set up something similar. The more money you put into the mining and refining process the more material can be excavated. Same can be said in the rings around planets or asteroid fields, instead of a fighter bay, have a drone bay that works with your limpets to target the material you are looking for to be refined.
If not for the coming Fleet Carrier update involving the mining for material needed to fuel it, one might have believed the previous rumor of less mining or no mining needed from commanders in the future. I think that would have been fine.
