Jump.I grip the sticks on every jump, half expecting an alien starship to fill the cockpit view port. It never does.
Another M class star. Run the scoop. Run the system scans. So many systems. All empty.
Almost empty. I found a waterworld with some basic filter lifeforms in it. Floaters. I didn't bother to get up close enough to look, just marked it in the catalogue and moved onto the next planet.
80 jumps in, 464 to go.
No signals. Nobody out here. Just the stars and planets.
