Leaving the Bubble

Commissioned an Eagle and Diamondback Explorer today, as well. Watching the Gambit folk do what they do made me want to build out a hooner to which I can aspire. One day I'll brave those canyons...For now, we're taking the Maven out. I figure the infamous Jameson crash site is so near Ray's that I may as well pop by and pay my respects. I remember the scandal when the news broke of its discovery, and the truth of how we quieted the Thargoid threat way back when. I can't say I condone the response of the League of Reparation, but I can understand the general outrage people had. A key figure of our history, and a pivotal moment in our history, all discovered to be untrue - but, more than that, to be untrue in a horrible way that the higher ups knew about. This is why I'll never get involved in politics. You keep to yourself and you won't get burned, I always say.
I can't help but wonder, mind, if the recent Thargoid incursions were all the more fierce given our actions back in the day. Maybe a more measured response could have lead to a different resolution, and maybe we'd be living in a different time today. Or maybe we'd all be dead? I'll leave these thoughts and decisions to others, I think. The world is today what it is, and wishing it were different won't do anything.
Anyway, I'm heading out to the Sanguineous Rim. It's a hell of a journey, but I'm confident the Maven will get me there safely.
Flambard out.
