Unceremonious Welcome

So I got to Jameson. Turns out Elite Traders are, ironically, a dime a dozen right now, and the Pilots' Federation have had to suspend congratulatory ceremonies pending a review of the rank hierarchies. So, I hustle up to this noisy as all hell station, struggle through to a damn landing pad, and turn up dressed to the nines to receive... a nice, shiny lapel pin.

Look, I ain't mad about the pin. I'm happy doing what I'm doing, and I wasn't really gunning for rank status anyways, but when the invite implies a shindig, I expect a damn shindig.

Not all bad, though. Pilots' Fed spared no expense in this behemoth station; it's got reps from every ship manufacturer you can imagine, and they are all fully stocked - and with a nice 10% discount to boot. Definitely piqued my interest, and made it worth setting up nearby to get easy access, but like hell am I making a home here. I spent the rest of the day at a slightly fancy bar to justify my shirt, and chatted with some other Commanders. Gotta say; it's amazing hearing all the tales of folks who got here. Met this scary son of a bitch who got here bounty hunting, and had a slight existential dilemma as we discussed the ramifications on personal identity over time in a world with bio-flash.

I was saved by this explorer who looked like he was out the movies. Sharp jaw, grizzled beard, hat at a jaunty angle; it was textbook, I tell you. He'd just got back from a hell of a trek to what he called the "Collection of Wonders", out in Skaude AA-A h294. What he described sounded completely insane and impossible and incredible, and I'd be lying if I said it hadn't given me the itch. When I asked him about a decent place to set up shop near Jameson, he recommended a little asteroid base in LTT 4961 called Greg's Legacy. Nice central location, and apparently the view coming in and out is amazing.

And I'll be damned if it ain't. I headed straight there and brought across my ships from Ray immediately. The Collection of Wonders has given me a real drive to get out there, so I'm back in the Mendicant of Excess and am gonna see what I can do to supe this baby right up and get out there as fast as possible. I'll spend a bit of time getting more engineering materials, and we'll see what can be done here.

Flambard out.
