I spent a while touring the local systems on the prowl for High Grade Emissions, and was reasonably successful. The cabin fever started getting to me, though, so I've taken the Jaunte back out to HIP 36601 for some planetary exploration and excavation. Last time I was out here, I suffered some from the lack of ammunition. I have to blast pieces off these weird crystalline structures, but my SRV only comes with 2,000 rounds. That's no longer an issue now, though, with this system populated with a dozen different fleet carriers, who are all happy to help - at a bit of a premium, mind.
Unfortunately, I had some difficulty in the low gravity and ended up jamming the SRV between a rock and a hard place, and had to self-destruct. 'No worries', thought I, as I had checked the local carrier for SRV stocks and knew I could get a replacement. I had spoken with the ground crews, and the carrier owner, and they had all assured me that I would be able to get SRV replacements aplenty.
So I head back to the carrier, and discover this is some bullshit. Everyone's telling me there was an unexpected issue in engineering, that they're having to redo calibrations, so I head to a different carrier - only to get the same story! God damn it. I figure it must be a matter of limited supply, but the owners don't want to admit to having understocked. Luckily, I was able to get back in touch with Greg's Landing, and have the Maven brought across.
I'm back on land now, but I've gotta make sure to be extra careful in driving this time around...
