The construct Part 1

T Tauri / Hind Mine - 16.11.3307 - Infirmary

Now I am lying here in the infirmary of the Hind Mine Asteroid Base and waiting for my transfer to Polevnic. The painkillers, which are permanently instilled into me via the drip, make the world somehow ... strange.
Why did I behave so unprofessionally during the last combat mission? It is honorable to save a comrade. But that was just stupid. I guess my mind wasn't in the right place....
The plasma burns will probably take a while. Well, I'm sure our scientists in Polevnic can heal it faster than they can here. But first I have to be declared fit for transport.

Until then I have time for records.

Last week, when the universe was still in order in the usual crazy way, my aunt Jintosh approached me and presented me with a rather adventurous plan. The woman is... was... completely desperate. She wants her wife back, who has been in a coma for about six weeks.

But in order... damn narcotics...
Sharon Valerii, the woman who could be considered my only living relative...or rather the rest of my family...oh crap this is getting too complicated.... Anyway. She's not human, she's an artificial life form. Something known as a construct.

Anyway, Jintosh talked me and some friends into this crazy mission to wake Sharon up from her coma and sever her connection to the Obelisk Network. We had to get an artifact. So far so good. None of us really believed we could succeed. We simply wanted Jintosh to feel better.
Our journey took us into the Coalsack Sector... right into a wasps' nest.
Bering Port, the station where Jin was supposed to meet her contact, was burning. The entire system had just been overrun by Thargoids.
The situation was completely chaotic. An AEGIS Defense Megaship was on the scene, although I thought they had all been deactivated after the last incidents. In any case, a simple salvage mission ended up being a heist.
The system authority had put everything found during the excavations on planet A3 under lock and key in a nearby settlement and sealed it in containers.
Jin was completely distraught and we were literally running out of time. Removing Sharon's fleet carrier from LAWD 86's radiation belt had reactivated the AI's installation routine in Sharon. We needed to find and obtain this artifact.

So we broke into Hume's Nursery.

The whole operation was ill-starred from the start. Our "air support", Commander Hans v. Volldampf, was immediately attacked by the defenses and had to withdraw.
Jintosh, Cmdr Dlljs and I meanwhile were able to penetrate the settlement. Jin hacked a terminal and found the right container. Fortunately, all the guards were distracted by Hans and we reached the storage area without enemy contact. But there were more problems. The artifact was stowed in a box that required an opening code. We had to find a data terminal and hack it as well. Of course, this action caused Jintosch to set off another alarm and we were attacked by the staff.
I tried to protect the two women at my side as best I could. To cover their escape, I drew attention to myself. Since I was the only one wearing a combat suit and had the proper training in urban combat.

During our escape from Humes Nursery, I received a message from Aurelia Davidson, the crew chief of the [GPLC] Resurrection. She had been transferred back to Gender by the fleet carrier in jump condition. Haste was the order of the day. With a few bruises, we made it back just in time. Aurelia would have left us behind without mercy. She would have her orders, she simply replied to my question of why.

In the end, it seems to have worked. Sharon is awake.

Unfortunately, I was only able to see her for a very short time, because I was sent to T Tauri by the Utopian Guard High Command to infiltrate Taurus Mining. They wanted to find out more about this ominous Salvation.
Even though I was wounded in the process, I was able to allow another agent to infiltrate this organization.

None of this matters to me anymore. Hopefully my family is doing well and the painkillers are doing their job better and better..... I am tired
