I've always been a tiny bit afraid of the universe. It hasn't bothered me much when I've jumped between populated systems, mining and trading.
It's more about all the time in between. The time spent looking out my canopy, trying to focus on something in the darkness.
Trying to make sense of all the... space.
It used to make me feel dizzy and hopeless. Useless, even. The existential angst used to rule my life.
But lately, there's been an itch in me. The void was calling to me. I had to get out there.
What a waste for me to sit and ponder about why and how I am what I am. I should do something about it.
My therapist used to feed me reassurances about embracing the dread. And today, I did just that.
I docked up my AspX, fitted for mining. I pulled out every last bit of mining equipment on that thing, slowly but surely gathering some tools for a budding explorer.
But where should I go?
It didn't take long for me to find my destination.
I decided for the Witch Head Nebula. It's prominent on the Galaxy Map, and it's not too far. Surely I'll make it in one piece... right?

Not too long after, I had arrived. I gazed at its beauty. All my fears, all my visions of impending doom had drained out of me and been replaced by...
utter and pure euphoria.
I couldn't help but laugh to myself. This was what I was afraid of? Granted, it wasn't the longest trip ever made in mankinds history.
But it was my trip. And I did it all on my own.
I decided to head over to the Running Man Nebula, while I was on a roll. However, the camera limpet seemed to malfunction and so all my pictures were unreadable. Welp.
I'm on my way back now. Decided to scan some orbital bodies while I'm at it, have something to sell to Universal Cartographers.
I'll leave you curious readers with this picture I grabbed. Now, it's time to get jumping.
