Walking the razor's edge

With great satisfaction I watched as the Imperial Clipper popped and exploded in a burst of flame. The battles of Eurybia continued on all week. Liz Ryder's War...The Empire had no evidence that Ryder had built the explosive that had killed Harold Duvall, but still they had painted the target on the little engineer from Eurybia. The propaganda machine had been in overdrive since the announcement of the assassination. The royal family was gritting their polished teeth and vowing revenge. The beautiful princess, daughter of Henry was inconsolable...
The Duvall's wanted blood and they had set their sights on the engineer Liz Ryder for some reason...
I don't know if Ryder had anything to do with the assassination. I don't know if the bomb that killed the gilded Duvall was of her design or not, but I do know that proof should be the currency of the realm not blind vengeance.
It also puts me in a thorny spot, because I've been working the last week promoting the princess all over the galaxy in hopes of sneaking my way in to get the plans for prismatic shields. In actuality, I hate the Empire. I cannot condone anyone that thinks they have the right to own anybody else--but I also need to make sure the shields covering the ass of my stolen Cutter are as strong as possible.
So in between bouts with Imperial aggressors in Eurybia, I sneak back to Cubeo in a second stolen Cutter and do a weekly run for the princess...hopefully, the two sides will never be the wiser...still have three weeks to go...
