Actually finally 100% home at last? Entry 25

Nearly a full year since my last entry here, sorry about that y'all. It's been... kind of a personal hell, really. My own mother fell very ill, to the point where I felt the uncompromising need to just drop everything and tend to her, I just haven't written anything about her because she's an old woman and I feel the big attention would do more harm than good. Turns out a prior medical procedure she had back when I was but a child healed up way wrong and kept her from eating like she should've been, and that was only the start of it. She dropped down to under 100 pounds over the course of the year, and being powerless to stop it kinda deals a number on your own sanity, even with the best medical care out there, and later on she ended up with a hole in her stomach, which even today is REALLY bad. Ramblings ahoy, these events are part of what caused me to depart from The Metavem Brotherhood, I was not able to contribute as much as we could have used.Mother's health is finally returning to normal, slowly but surely, so my hunt for another squadron began only about three months ago. Through Metavem I had heard of The Equestrian Naval Fleet, at the time I guessed they were like a subsect of the Furry Fleet I was part of long ago, just more focused on horses for some reason, and you can Imagine my surprise when I learned there was no relation. Instead they were more related to an old entertainment series from a thousand-some years ago on Television, which from what I understand is like an extremely primitive form of our current Holovids, and their own names seem to follow suit. It's always the weird cults that accept wanderers with open arms, but they've been extremely supportive during my rough patch (which is hopefully ending soon) and I feel like I owe them for that. First part of that repayment was the help of conquering a star system that they say should've been their home from the start, EQ Pegasi. I was only around for the tail-end of that takeover, but it was long and bloody, with even a scare of it actually failing miserably. And Hoo Boy, was there Resistance, even now there's still some fires to put out. Speaking of, we (as in, the squadron) are lighting them elsewhere, but just like what respect I had for the Legion back in the day, I'm not going to reveal any details.
The Arctic Mage remains fully functional and operational, and generally appreciated by the ENF. More than once she ferried a few of their members to-and-from various locations. Normally the increased upkeep cost would've been a concern, but their activity has been more than enough to pay that off, and then some. I wonder if I can finally use her for the bulk trading I've always wanted to do?
Speaking of bulk, lately I've been needing way more sleep than I normally get, including right now as I'm writing this. That, and I just got done with a platinum mining session with one named Pixel Bit, I think that was their name. As long as that was, they did give me a fair price for 500 tons to put onto their carrier, and it's been a while since I slept in my Type 9 anyway. I am hoping to get back to writing regularly, but as usual I cannot make any promises.
