Entry 26: A Major Victory and Making History

This past week has been quite a busy one, indeed: After a bit of a stumble, we (The Equestrian Naval Fleet) finally managed to secure one of our flanks. Due to the strategic value I'm not exactly allowed to say where, but I can say that we got a good foothold in Federation space and managed to do what some of the larger squadrons in the area were too afraid to do. We might have even picked up an ally in another squadron, though it's too soon to tell yet. Thanks to the victory, we've been ordered to take a small break, though I sincerely doubt most anyone would. Aurora's skill as ambassador and tactician, Nepeta's motivational spurs, Felyx's awesome engineering and piloting skills, and my own experience with working the public were pivotal in turning the tide, though other members did plenty of work themselves, too. We have a strong idea of who might have been against us, but no solid proof as of yet.
All this comes shortly after the whole Salvation's failings. That was somewhat demoralizing for the squadron, so we're taking solace in what we managed to accomplish, with even the larger Federation squads who neglected to assist being pleasantly surprised. From what I have heard, this is the second time ENF has pulled off the impossible, reminds me of a story about a fictional character who went on 3 suicide missions and came back from each. We might have our third at some point. Nep's hoping it'll be against a huge wave of Thargoids. 'Bloodthirsty' may be an understatement, but he does know how to motivate. I might end up trying Anti-Xeno at some point or other, though at this rate I might be forced into it. Maybe after the egg-heads of Professor Palin and Ram Tah figure out these new corrupted guardian artifacts. Hopefully they can figure something out and engineer a new FTL-capable craft, even something experimental would be a good change of pace.
For now, a moment of respite because I'm rambling again. And by 'respite' I mean mass amounts of trading. The galaxy won't feed itself, after all, and I heard Mangos were starting to get really popular.
