FINAL LOG #8 COLONIA - SAGITTARIUS A* - BEAGLE POINT EXPEDITION
09 Aug 2017Al Tarf
My goal has been finally achieved.
What do I feel?
Satisfaction, that my confidence, my ship, my experience and knowledges did not fail me.
Here I am, at the final destination of my long-long journey. It was far longer than any of my previous expeditions. It all have began with that "huge" endeavour of about 300 Ly flight to Altarf system, continued with 1300 Ly solo expedition to Iris Nebula and was crowned with, so far, the most unique experience in my exploration career - 7k light years Expedition to Crab Pulsar, with hundreds of other enthusiastic pilots around me.
And now, the 65k Light years gap lies between me and the Sol. Completely unfamiliar landscape, alien skies, with no Nebulas I used to see everywhere around me in the habitable bubble.
Now there's a longest, tiresome and treacherous road back home awaits me. But can it wait?
After reaching the stars so distant, the only thing I want is to go even further. I'm going to reach the very edge of our galaxy, the most distant star, that was unreachable before the latest technical discoveries. I know, I won't be the first to go there, I know I can fail, and not be able to return. I want to take that risk, just to look into the pitch black abyss of our Universe, where only the slightest glimpse of imessurably far galaxies could be seen. But it's going to take a while. I need some to take some time, and remain here a little longer.
Expect to see me in the latest days of September, when the inhabited bubble will meet another traveler from the edges of the galaxy.
Now that will be something to boast with, eh? Just kidding, I hope my logs will encourage someone else to go this far, to push his explorer experience to the limit, and then go even further.
That's all for now, folks. And as always - stay tuned, stay focused, stay cool. Until next time!
