Getting High

Well, it’s been pretty amazing so far. Every since the unexpected windfall of that Sidewinder and being accepted into the training program for the Pilot’s Federation took me away from working on ships to owning one, I’ve been living a dream come true. Things happened fast, that little ‘winder made me enough coin running data between stations that I was able to buy my own Type 6. Found some pretty decent trade routes and was making decent money as a freelance trader but then I stumbled across a recruiting site for the Artemis Corporation... That changed everything. Suddenly I was making more money through profit sharing than I knew what to do with. I bought a Viper MKIV to try my hand at fighting. There were some hard lessons there but I fell in love with the tough little beast. She served me well during our recent war with the Allied Kinne Front in the Mandh system. I tricked out a Vulture (thanks again Felicity) and did a little bounty hunting. I learned the fine art of core mining in my shiny new Python. But my one true love is the “Sweet Caroline”. She’s a red and black DBX with long legs and a heart of gold.
Doing all that other stuff was fun (and extremely profitable) but the most fun I’ve had as a pilot to date was taking Sweet Caroline to the California Nebula and back. Nothing competes with landing on a planet in a star system no human before you has ever seen. So now with a far more flush credit account and a bit more experience I’m headed back out there. There are so many possible destinations I went with the simplest of criteria. Let’s get high! So I’m aiming for a star as far above the plane as I could find within about 10,00ly from the bubble. Hopefully the view will be spectacular and Lord only knows what else I’ll find.
I’ll keep updating since I’m writing this right after the very first jump that sent me on my way. I might make it there, I might not, but one thing is certain. I’m gonna get higher than I’ve ever been before.
