During the 32nd week of 3308, RazorLabs has executed many reconnaissance incursions in the HIP 22460 system. The methodology and discoveries made by our team are detailed in this report.
Context
After the live transmission of the Proteus Weapon (more about the project's history here) failed use against a thargoid structure in the planet 10b, a big explosion was registered in HIP 22460 that affected and destroyed all human presence in the system. Search and rescue teams where targeted by an unseen agressive thargoid behavior. Soon after, the military forces withdrawn from the system completely [1].
Fleet
After the ocurred, we deemed important to make our own investigation. We value clarity of facts and information transparency, specially in events of such scale. With this in mind, the RSC Melrose was deployed in the Pleiades Sector DG-X c1-11 sector, about ~15ly from HIP 22460, to support the operation.
Taking into account the known characteristics of the thargoid harassment in the system, it was determined that the reconnaissance vessel RN Zephyr was the most suitable for the initial investigation task. Despite no real mission assignments to this point, Zephyr has proven to be an outstanding recon asset, as we'll see next.
For the Fort Asch incursions the recon vessel Ex-Ranza was utilized.
Scenery and Methodology
HIP 22460 is a 67 body system. Our recon has FSS'd and surface mapped all bodies, as well as visited all debris fields, including the Bright Sentinel and Heart of Taurus megaships. Additional points of interest present in the system were the remnants of the capital ships FNS Bombardier, FNS Fortitude, FNS Varian Scott, INV Paramount, INV Illustrious Fortune, INV Audacious Dream, megaship Oath of Tyndareus, the orbital installation Overlook and the surface base Fort Asch.
The main goal was the retrieval of logs, followed by the analysis of scenery that would provide info for further actions.
Normal flight incursions were made in a fast paced maner, considering the quick response of the thargoid harassment (which would take about 15~30s to start).
Hyperjumps to HIP 22460 are being intercepted by thargoid vessels very frequently. In such cases, commanders are advised to run away from thargoids as quick as possible using boost and flight assist off, considering that such interdictions are immediatly followed by their EMP. Heatsinks are highly recommended to improve effectiveness of evasive maneuvers.
Guardian devices are destroyed as soon as they arrive in the system.

Capital Ships
Many engineering materials are present in such places but retrieval is impossible due to thargoid quick agression. No small black boxes were found thus no logs were available.
7c - Fort Asch
Thargoid Hostility
During the incursions all thargoid vessels displayed an agressive attitude, that is proactive attacks, against our vessels. We observed in the majority of cases the presence of interceptors, of the class Basilisk and Hydras, and scouts in rare occasions. They would drop near our vessels and immediatly shoot an EMP. Running them off only triggers new nearby drops, continuously. The only relative safety is in supercruise.
During the attacks, they'll prioritize the FSD module to prevent the ship evasion.
The same behavior could be observed in asteroid belts and planet surfaces, either in flight or in a SRV. We were unable to test their behavior on foot for obvious safety reasons.
The Anomaly
In the body 10b at the coordinates -52.08 / -39.64 is the remnant of the Proteus attempt to destroy the thargoid structure. It has now became a hazardous anomaly that prevents any ship to access the planet's surface. The maximum altitude we achieved was 103km until our flight controls prevented us to go further.
The body 10c is also impossible to land at this moment.
Conclusion
The happenings in HIP 22460 are a sad episode for our species. The repercussions are unknown at the moment. Counter attacking the thargoids is impossible as is retaking the system.
Commanders that wish to go there should be prepared for the hazards detailed in this report.
RazorLabs will continue to follow the situation closely. We'll be ready to provide support to our species as independent organization according to new events. For now, no new incursions are planned and our Search & Rescue vessels will remain on hold.

Posteriormente as forças militares recuaram do sistema definitivamente 1.

Considerando as características do assédio thargoid no sistema, ficou determinado que a nave de reconhecimento RN Zephyr era as mais apropriada para a tarefa de investigação inicial. Apesar de ainda não ter sido empregada em missões reais, Zephyr provou ser um ativo de reconhecimento valiosíssimo, conforme veremos a seguir.
Para as incursões no Fort Asch, foi utilizada a nave de reconhecimento Ex-Ranza.
Cenário e Metodologia
O sistema HIP 22460 é composto por 66 planetas e 1 estrela. Nosso reconhecimento realizou o escaneamento e mapeamento de todos os planetas, bem como a visita a todos os campos de destroços, incluindo as megaships Bright Sentinel e Heart of Taurus. Pontos de interesse adicionais encontrados no sistema foram os destroços das naves capitais FNS Bombardier, FNS Fortitude, FNS Varian Scott, INV Paramount, INV Illustrious Fortune, INV Audacious Dream, megaship Oath of Tyndareus, a instalação orbital Overlook e a base de superfície Fort Asch.
O objetivo principal era a obtenção de logs, seguido da análise do cenário para definição de futuras ações.
As incursões em voo normal eram feitas em alta velocidade tendo em vista a rapidez do assédio thargoid (após cerca de 15~30s).
Saltos para HIP 22460 estão sendo interceptados frequentemente pela frota thargoid. Em casos assim, os comandantes devem afastar-se dos thargoids o quanto antes utilizando boost e flight assist off, tendo em vista que estas interdições são imediatamente seguidas por disparos PEM. O uso de heatsinks é altamente recomendado para aumentar a eficácia das manobras evasivas.
Dispositivos guardian são destruidos ao entrar no sistema.

Hostilidade Thargoid
Todas as naves thargoids demonstraram uma atitude agressiva, entenda-se como ataques proativos, contra nossas naves durante a incursão. Observamos na maioria dos casos a presença de interceptors, da classe Basilisk e Hidra, e scouts em ocasiões raras. Eles apareceram próximos às nossas naves e dispararam o PEM imediatamente. Evadi-los apenas inicia novas aparições na proximidade, de forma contínua. A única segurança relativa é em supercruise.
Ao atacar, eles priorizarão o módulo MDF para inutilizar a capacidade de fuga da nave.
Este comportamento é persistente em aneis de asteróides e superfície de planetas, tanto em voo quanto em um SRV. Não foi possível testar o comportamento deles a pé por razões óbvias de segurança.

No planeta 10b, nas coordenadas -52.08 / -39.64, está o remanescente da tentativa da Proteus de destruir a estrutura thargoid, que neste momento tornou-se uma anomalia desconhecida e perigosa que impede o acesso à superficie do planeta. A altitude máxima que conseguimos atingir foram 103km antes que nossos controles de voo bloqueassem o avanço.
Também é impossível acessar a superfície do planeta 10c.
Conclusão
Os acontecimentos em HIP 22460 são um triste episódio para nossa espécie. As repercussões ainda são desconhecidas. Contra atacar os thargoids é impossível, assim como retomar o sistema.
Comandantes interessados em visitar o sistema devem estar preparados para as ameças detalhadas neste relatório.
