As humanity and thargoids head into collision course after the happenings of HIP 22460, this operation aims to clarify possible mistakes in AX conflicts, specifically the possibility to engage the wrong thargoid faction.
Humans and thargoids have been fighting each other for a long time. First contact dates back from 31251, with additional reports suggesting incidents even earlier, in 28492. Besides the history, our present also carries the marks of such conflicts. The reverse engineering of their technology leading us to our current hyperdrive jumping capabilities and the south portion of the bubble being filled with systems claimed by both species are just a few examples.
In the mean time, no way to differentiate their two known factions, the oresrians and klaxians, have been discovered. This becomes a bigger issue if the records of oresrians having a pacific behavior towards humans are taken into account3.
Another unexplained thargoid behavior is their reactiveness in regards of aggression. Their vessels will only proactively attack human commanders if the last carries offensive material, such as thargoid remains/assets or guardian artifacts. Not even having guardian gear (this includes weapons) is enough to trigger an attack4. They are also known to warn reckless commanders that get to a dangerous proximity to them, before initiating a response5.

During the month of september 3308 in the triple defensive campaing of 42 N Persei, Chun Pindit and Tekkeitjal, an overlooked detail was that despite their 1ls proximity to stations, no infrastructure was damaged during their staying. It's worth of note that this happened after the HIP 22460 incident and while the UIA courses towards the human bubble.
In contrast to this, there are known agressive behavior such as in HIP 22460, near the UIA's and historically, as in the 3307's Delphi crisis for example.
The only apparent identification they carry in their vessels are the thargoid logograms, that despite being well catalogued, its meaning is currently unknown.

With these factors considered, the Operation Cupid will try to answer the following questions:
- Does thargoid logograms have any connection with their agressive/passive behavior that could lead to differentiation between their factions?
- Are there any differences among the logogram patterns of thargoids that are in known locations, the ones that fought in the triple defensive campaing of persei, HIP 22460 and in the UIA surroundings?
Answering these questions may help to avoid unecessary engagements, perhaps the continuity of them, that cause waste of resources, including human and alien lives. The current efficiency of our military response could be drastically improved if we were able to distinguish thargoid factions thus focusing on the hostile ones while avoiding the creation of a powerful enemy unnecessarily.
A new vessel has been commissioned in RazorLabs fleet with the purpose of supporting the Operation Cupid and further Xeno Research. Cherub has successfully passed all testing phases and is already providing useful information for the operation.

Humanos e thargoids tem lutado entre si há bastante tempo. O primeiro contato foi registrado em 31251, com relatos adicionais sugerindo incidentes ainda mais antigos, em 28492. Além da história, nosso presente também carrega marcas destes conflitos. A engenharia reversa da tecnologia deles nos levar às capacidades de salto dos nossos hyperdrives e a parte sul da bolha estar repleta de sistemas disputados por ambas as espécies são apenas alguns exemplos.
