A 7k Light Year Spiritual Journey

January 28, 3307, ToolfaThis empty feeling kept creeping on me the past few weeks after New Year celebration.
No matter what I did, either hunting pirates in the name of justice nor helping those Marlinis kids from getting hungry could save me from the dreadful void that filled up my soul. Even the pure joy of flying seemed to fade away in exchange for a new apethy toward life.
It could be that I am about to hit the middle road of my expiration date. Looking back at all those wasted years, finally realize I am not some special "heroin" in a fantasy book. Suffered with regrets, I am but a vain man who made too many mistakes.
The scale of the universe does not help either. Far from it, the vast trillion and trillion kilometers of space striked me down in my nightmare. "A tiny frivolous bit of sand I am" the thought screamed. "What chance do I get to put a mark in this monstrous galaxy!"
Thus as the distressing existential crisis grew, I knew I ought to devise an immediate intervention and retake my solace. I need to look deep in my heart and soul. With an unresisted urge, I jump on board my dusty Anaconda and embark on a spiritual journey.
Mapped plotted, here we are to the Heart and Soul Nebulas.
Journey Album
Over 100 jumps later, the Heart Nebula expanded into a thickening red velvet that envelops your entire being. While massive, its vibrant mythical colors gave away such feeling that the Nebula is an actual living object. Getting close enough and you could imagine the nose of you ship is touching the pumping heart.
At the Heart's core, you can find Fluk Memorial, an affecting beacon dedicated to a loyal friend, as well as an asteroid base near the blue gas giant. Some pirate activities here and there for the brave combatant pilots and two FC existed in the system. Guess I am not the only one who want to avoid the futile struggle in the much busy Bubble.
The Soul Nebula, parked only 300ly from the Heart, has a unique shape that resembles a warm blanket wrapping round your neck on a cold winter night. While its Base Camp is a bit far from the main star (140k ls), I did find two nearby gas giants that look just like some delicious oreos mixing up with minty ice cream. With no FC, the Soul Nebula has near to zero traffic; perfect for any escapist.
After a pleasant evening photographing the two hypnotizing nebulas, I decided it is time to go home. While the emptiness is still there, it has diminished substantialy. The little trip reminded me to relearn the value of enjoying little things along the way.
Standing on top of the world might be what we all seek, and often fail, but the journey would forge our character and sometimes give us profound happiness.
