Welcome to this week's installment of Vox Galactica. We have massive stories breaking out throughout the Core Systems. Cyber terrorists, Thargoid rallies, missing commanders, and machines with SOULS? We're going to start simplifying the Superpower states for an easier read. We understand that some of you want it broken down with less of a read, we heard you and we're listening! Let's get right into it.

Coming to you from Ocairi, this is MsValkyrie reporting events unfolding in the Empire.
This week has been filled with sadness and mourning as Emperor Lavigny-Duval mourns the loss of Capt Blumberg, his wife and two daughters. Her Grace has launched a full scale investigation into this tragic loss. The owner of a small trading company, Lily Blossom of Blossoming Rose Trading Post, was detained by Imperial Intelligence Service. IIS agents stated that an illegally modified Frame Shift Drive was installed on the Capt's vessel. When activated, it sent the vessel on a collision course to Schroter Beacon. Vox Galactica have learned that merchants at Schroter Beacon were competitors to Blossoming Rose. The exact number of people injured or killed is still being withheld from the public at this time until all relatives can be contacted. The estimated damage costs range into the hundreds of millions.
In other Imperial news, attacks from the cyber group Los Extranjeros have ceased. The exact reason for the cease fire is not known at this time, but Imperial bounty hunters are continuing to hunt them down for credits. Emperor Duval has fully authorized the use of any and all private military companies and independent mercenaries to hunt the terrorists down.
Coming to you from Sol, this is Vapor IX reporting to you everything happening in Federal Space this week.
We begin with President Hudson addressing the Federation on the stand against the cyber terrorists. As with the Empire, President Hudson reached out to pmc's and mercenaries to hunt down the terrorists with promises of handsome rewards. However, Shadow President Winters has gone on record stating that they should use Federal armed forces not cut throats to hunt down these cowards. She says the Federation should not rely on non-Federation pilots to solve delicate Federal matters.
Coming to you from the beautiful blueish-purple hue of Colonia, this is CJ Pryde.
Things are really looking better for Jaques. Citizens are elated as investment grows. The Free People of Colonia have ceased all protests and have engaged in rallies for Jaques. Head of public relations for TFPoC, Johan Schmidt, has stated that the state of Colonia has never looked brighter thanks to the overwhelming effort Jaques has put into restoration. Tourism is at an all time high in and around the Nebula. Many tour groups have added Colonia to their Sagittarius A* spacetours. Colonization of new lands in and around Colonia is gaining momentum. A bid to build several Coriolis and Ocellus starports has been brought to Jaques and the Colonia Council for approval.
Efforts to thwart Thargoid specimen research by The Agency is still on going, but this time, it takes place in Maia. Agency vessels have kept a close eye on Holloway science researchers examining xeno samples. They fear that is any form of xeno samples were brought back to Colonia, the Thargoids might target the Nebula next.
Coming to you from Obsidian Orbital, this is VolkerX reporting all Thargoid related incidents this week.
We have a lot to discuss. Thargoids destroyed an unarmed passenger liner yesterday. All hands lost. Men, women and children. Elderly people. Whole families. Two families lost three generations in that one single attack. The oldest passenger was 103. The liner developed a fuel leak. It detoured to the system to scoop fuel, then it moved a ‘safe’ distance from the star and dropped from supercruise so that the crew could try to find and stop the leak. Then a Medusa and a pack of Scouts dropped in on them and destroyed them. Just because they were human. Black boxes and escape pods were all taken by the Medusa as it left the scene. Further information will be brought to you as it comes in regarding this atrocity.
As I reported last week, a massive influx of commanders set their sights on the xeno nebulae with the sole intent to eradicate them. This has drawn massive attention from both sides. Many citizens see this as a direct act of war which could result in the Thargoids returning en masse with larger battlecraft and plunging the systems into infestation. Should a system fall into Infestation, all human life would need to retreat out of the system. Commanders like CMDR J-Dog162 have an invested urge in Thargoid eradication. The loss of a child weighs heavily upon one's soul and mind. However, this drive to destroy an entire species could have damaging affects on peaceful citizens just trying to maintain a calm life.
The fight for the Pleiades/Witch Head Nebulae is a long war that has last many years. Humans versus Thargoids. Both see the other as "alien" in THEIR homeworld. This is something I fear may never end. Neither side is open to a treaty.
As a special report, I will cover the evolution of robotics later this week. A touchy subject of machines with souls has once again taken center stage in this evolving culture. The debate about free thinking machines is a topic which everyone thinks they know what's best. I however speak to a special guest about what it means to be free. Stay tuned later in this week for my exclusive story...right here on Vox Galactica!
That does it for this week's installment of Vox Galactica. Stay safe o7!
