Victory in Ember

24 Nov 2020Ember Kurokishi
Two months , as I count it. It's been two months since our humble squadron moved into this star system. We initially started an experiment to see what moved things around and how fast. From there , it all rolled downhill. We learned that we could move things around quite quickly , if we mixed up activity. Over the course of the month we worked with the local independents to further our experiment. Things were too successful , and we found ourselves locked in a Civil War with the controlling faction earlier this week.

We had Fleet Carriers come and go , and chatted with a few of the Commanders who owned them. It was three long and grueling days , battle after battle , mission after mission , running security at one of the local installations.
Worse yet , the traffic had picked up who they were and what they were here for when this system had been so quiet before .... was a mystery. Day after day , we wondered if things were about to crash down on us. Our neighbors being mostly Imperial , surely wouldn't be too happy about an Independent Democracy rising to power in the neighborhood , but we had to try.
Our squadron while Independent can't deny past involvement with the Empire , mostly positive. We stood with the Empire against the Mafia , and against those suspected of harboring NMLA Terrorists.
We flew with Imperial commanders , and helped their factions flourish , their squadrons achieve goals in ways that prevented conflict between other commanders.

It felt weird to be pushing independence in this neighborhood , but the history showed Independence once held this system. Shipyards that once sold Anacondas , DBXs and Pythons , were now selling the Clipper , and Courier. We wanted to bring back the Independent shipyard , not just for the sake of our own recruits , but in the hopes of creating an awesome shipyard anyone in the neighborhood could come to , and pick up these well known and popular vessels , without having to travel over sixty light years.

To further add to this , the NMLA are NOT WELCOME in this system , and any terrorists found will be handed over to Imperial authorities immediately. This may be the Democracy they push for with their extremism , but we will not shelter them.

The only thing that concerns me is that the Federation or Alliance may have had a hand in this conflict in some way or another , along with the Fleet Carriers and the commanders who owned them , several Courier Vessels owned by the Federation and Alliance were spotted throughout the conflict. With all the recent terrorist attacks , assassinations and relations between the Empire and Federation deteriorating , I'd rather not have had the other superpowers interfering with this Civil War.

To the Commanders who supported our efforts in the war , we thank you , to those who opposed us , we don't hold a grudge.
To our Imperial neighbors , we are not out to challenge you in any way shape or form. We hope that there is opportunity for us to work together as we have with other Imperial groups in the past.

Ember is our home , we are the Dead Pirates' Society , to hell with the NMLA and may they get justice brought down on their heads.

We haven't forgotten the Imperial stations they bombed , we won't forget their threats and actions against those in both the Royal Family and the Federal Government.
