Wanderlust

We lost a guy today. The third in quick succession to the same outcome. Not to Thargoid attack, not to pirate intervention, not to a catastrophic accident or a claimed bounty; they just went. Packed up their things, fuelled up their craft and headed out into the big black. Why? I don't know. Every now and again, the lure of the unexplored galaxy becomes irresistible to a pilot, as the gravitational pull of a black hole draws in its surroundings; they can't fight it. My father taught me that this was so common, the ancients of Earth had a specific word to describe it. I don't know if they simply want to discover new things or, bizarrely, believe they've found the key to locating Raxxla but I suppose every CMDR will have their reasons.I will miss them. They were great members of our squadron. We may never see them again out in the great wilderness that is the Milky Way. But I wish them well and I know they will go on and do great things.
Father called it "wanderlust".
